The Executive Committee of the Hospitality and Tourism Association of Eswatini on behalf of our members, discovered the need to provide a forum through which we can offer the wider Eswatini community (Business, government, health, etc) an education on some of the cross cutting aspects of Tourism and the business in which the industry is involved.
Following the elections in Eswatini in November of 2023 it came to our attention as the Executive Committee that there are some sectors of the Eswatini Community who do not see value in the hospitality and tourism industry and who view it as an industry which does not affect them.
However, hospitality and tourism as an industry are widely cross cutting and are integrated with many other industries around the world not just within Eswatini. Therefore it was felt that we needed to create a forum in which there could be an education on what the industry is and how it functions, how it integrates with other industries as well as demonstrating the obstructions that the industry has to growth and development.
This then bore the Tourism Nkwe, and our inaugural event took place on the 21st August 2025.
